Stores and warehouses
Add branches you sell from and warehouses you hold stock in, and switch between them.
Stock Manager Pro keeps stock, sales and registers separate for each location.
| Store (branch) | Warehouse | |
|---|---|---|
| Sell from it at the till | Yes | No |
| Has its own register and end of day | Yes | No |
| Holds its own stock | Yes | Yes |
| Stock moves in and out by transfer | Yes | Yes |
Your first store was created when you set up your business.
Add a store
Before you start
The number of stores depends on your package: 1 on Pro, 5 on Advanced and 10 on Enterprise. Team members need permission to manage branches.
Open Workspace → Users & roles, then the Stores tab.
Select Add store.
Enter the Store name — for example, Accra Mall branch — and select Add store.
To give the branch its own address and phone for its receipts and invoices, select the pencil icon next to it. Leave them blank to use your business's.
Add a warehouse
Open Stock → Warehouses.
Select New warehouse.
Enter a Name, and optionally an Address and Phone, then save.
Each warehouse in the list shows how many products and units it holds.
Switch between stores
The active store is shown at the top of the menu. Select it to switch to another store — the till, stock levels and sales then show that store.
Team members who are assigned to one store always work in that store, so they can't switch.
Good to know
- You can't delete your last store. A business always needs at least one place to sell from. When you delete a store, anyone assigned to it moves to All stores.
- Warehouses don't count as stores for that rule — a stockroom alone is no place to run a till.
- Moving stock between locations is done with transfers, in Stock → Stock transfers. The receiving location confirms what arrived, and what each store owes the others is kept in Stock → Inter-branch settlements.
