Edit or delete an invoice
Change an invoice's details or items, cancel it, or delete it — and what deleting removes.
Edit an invoice
Open Billing → Invoices and select the invoice — or use the pencil icon in the list.
Select Edit.
Change what you need: the client, number, dates, status, line items, discount, tax or notes.
Select Save changes.
On an existing invoice, Discount and Tax open as fixed amounts showing what was saved. Switch to % to enter a percentage again.
Cancel instead of deleting
If an invoice is no longer owed — the order fell through, or it was raised by mistake — edit it and set the Status to Cancelled. It stays in your records, isn't counted as money owed, and no more payments can be recorded against it.
Delete an invoice
Open Billing → Invoices.
On the invoice's row, select the bin icon.
Check the invoice number and select Delete.
Deleting can't be undone
Deleting permanently removes the invoice, its line items and every payment recorded against it. Those payments disappear from your dashboard and reports too. The deletion is noted in Workspace → Activity, including any amount that had been collected.
In most cases, Cancelled is the safer choice.
Good to know
- Deleting an invoice doesn't delete the client. To delete a client, first remove or reassign their invoices — see Manage clients.
- The share link stops working once an invoice is deleted.
