Wholesale pricing
Switch on trade prices for your business, and set each product's wholesale price and minimum quantity.
Wholesale pricing gives trade customers a lower price once they buy enough. It's off until you switch it on, so shops that only sell retail never see it.
1. Switch it on
Open Workspace → Settings and expand Store settings.
Switch on Sell at wholesale prices.
Select Save changes.
It applies to all your stores. Switching it off later hides the wholesale fields and the till switch, but keeps the prices you've entered.
2. Set each product's wholesale price
Open the product in Stock → Products. A Wholesale section now appears:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Wholesale price | The trade price for one unit |
| Minimum quantity | How many must be bought before the trade price applies. 0 or 1 means from the first unit |
| Wholesale discount | (Optional) None, a percentage or a fixed amount off the wholesale price |
| Discount value | The size of that discount |
| Allow price switch at the POS | Leave on so this product can be sold at wholesale. Switch off to always charge retail |
Select Save changes.
What the customer pays
With the till set to Wholesale, a line gets the wholesale price only when:
- the product has a wholesale price above zero,
- Allow price switch at the POS is on, and
- the quantity in the cart has reached the Minimum quantity.
Otherwise that line is charged the retail price.
Retail price 120, wholesale price 100, minimum quantity 5
4 units → 4 × 120 = 480
5 units → 5 × 100 = 500If the product has a wholesale discount, it's taken off the wholesale price. The product's retail discount is not also applied.
Selling at wholesale
See Retail and wholesale prices for using the Retail / Wholesale switch at the Point of Sale.
Good to know
- Services don't have wholesale prices.
- Invoices use the retail sale price when you add a product with From catalog. Change the unit price on the invoice for a trade customer.
