Receipts and printers

Print a customer's receipt, choose a receipt design, and set up a receipt printer.

Every sale has a receipt. You can print it straight after the sale, or later from the sales list.

After Complete sale, select View receipt. For an older sale, open Sell → Sales and select it.

Select Print.

In your browser's print window, choose your printer and print. Only the receipt is printed — the app's menus and buttons are left off.

What's on the receipt

  • Your logo, business name, phone and address — for the store that made the sale
  • The sale number, date and time
  • Each item with quantity × price
  • Subtotal, discount, tax and total
  • How it was paid — one line per method for a split payment — and the change
  • The Txn ID for card and mobile-money payments
  • A closing line

The business details come from Workspace → Settings → Company details. The closing line is your Footer note from the same section, or "Thank you for your purchase!" if it's empty.

Choose a receipt design

Open Workspace → Settings → Template & PDF, pick a POS receipt template and save.

The first three are free. The others are marked Pro and are available on any paid package.

Tax ID and levies

The Tax Invoice and VAT Receipt templates print your tax ID from Settings → Primary invoice settings. Their levy lines split the tax the same way as Tools → GRA VAT calculator.

Receipt printers

Receipts print through your browser's normal print window, so any printer your computer, tablet or phone can print to will work — including thermal receipt printers.

For a thermal printer, set it up on the device first using its manufacturer's driver or app, then choose it in the print window. In the print window's settings, pick the paper size that matches your roll (usually 80 mm or 58 mm) and turn off headers and footers.

Invoice paper size

Workspace → Settings → Printers & scanner sets the paper size for invoices, quotes and reports: A4, Letter, A5 or Legal.
