The till on your phone

Sell, refund, count stock and back up from the Android till app — including with no network.

The Android till app puts the Point of Sale on a phone at the counter. It sells against the same products, stock and registers as the website, so a sale taken on the phone appears in Sales, Reports and End of day like any other.

Install and sign in

Install the app on the phone. You'll be given the APK file by Stock Manager Pro — open it and allow the install when Android asks.

Open the app and sign in with the same email and password you use on the website.

If you don't have an account yet, select Create an account to open stockmanagerpro.com, sign up, add your products, then come back and sign in.

Choose the store this phone sells for. Everything it does — stock, parked carts, the register — belongs to that store.

The phone obeys the same roles as the website. A cashier can sell but not change stock; refunds need permission to refund. If a button says your role can't do something, change the role in Workspace → Team on the website.

The sell screen

The header reads POS – your business name. Under it, a row of icons replaces the search bar:

IconWhat it does
SearchFind a product by name, SKU or barcode
ViewGrid or list, sort, and hide anything out of stock
HistoryToday's sales, with receipts and refunds
RegisterOpen or close the drawer, and cash in and out
ScanRead a barcode with the camera
ParkedCarts on hold, with how many are waiting
StockCount what's on the shelf at this branch

Tap a product to add it, tap it again for another. The cart at the foot shows the total; Charge takes the payment.

Scanning

Select the scan icon and hold the barcode in view. The camera reads the codes printed on retail goods (EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, ITF) and QR codes, and adds the product as soon as it matches a barcode or SKU.

If the phone can't scan — an older handset, or the camera refused — the window lets you type the code instead.

Selling with no network

The phone keeps a copy of your products and prices, so it keeps selling when the network drops:

  • Sales are queued. They're saved on the phone and sent as soon as the connection is back. Queue shows how many are waiting.
  • Carts park on the phone. A cart parked offline is marked on this phone and is only on that handset until the connection returns, when it joins the store's parked carts.
  • Refunds and stock counts need a connection. Both change figures other tills share, so they wait for the network rather than guess.

Don't clear the app's data or uninstall it while sales are queued — they're only on the phone. The queue is also copied into the automatic backup.

Cash in and out during a shift

Money goes in and out of the drawer for reasons that aren't sales — a top-up of change, paying a delivery driver, taking the day's takings to the bank at lunchtime.

Select Register → Cash in or Cash out, enter the amount and why. Each movement is recorded with who did it, and the expected cash in the drawer moves with it:

Expected cash = Balance b/f + Float + Cash sales − Cash refunds + Cash in − Cash out

The website shows these on the close-register summary too, so the count at the end of the day adds up.

End of day on the phone

Select Register → Close register, count the drawer, and enter what you counted and anything you're banking. The phone prints a till summary slip — expected, counted, whether it balanced, what was banked and what's left — with a line for a signature.

If a register is still open from an earlier day, the till says so and won't take new sales until that day is closed. This is deliberate: a sale rung into yesterday's register would land in yesterday's takings.

Reports

Reports shows today: sales, refunds, what was taken by each payment method, and the best sellers. It refreshes when you come back to the app, and every minute while it's open.

For any other day, or for the full end-of-day report, use Sell → End of day on the website.

Stock check at the counter

Stock is for putting the shelf right without walking to a computer. Scan or search a product, see what this branch is supposed to hold, enter what you've actually counted, and say why — a delivery counted in, a breakage. The change is recorded as a stock movement, exactly as it would be on the website, and every other till sees it.

Receipts and printing

The app prints to a Bluetooth thermal printer paired with the phone, or to one on the network by its IP address (port 9100). Choose 58mm or 80mm paper to match the roll, print a test page, and the till prints a receipt after each sale — with your logo and the name of whoever served, if you want them.

The till PIN

A PIN over the app stops the person waiting to be served picking the phone up and reading the day's takings, or refunding a sale, while your back is turned. It locks after a minute away and asks for the PIN when you come back.

It guards the app, not the account — it isn't a substitute for signing out on a phone you're handing over. If the PIN is forgotten, clear the app's data and sign in again.

Backup and restore

What lives only on the phone is backed up: sales still queued, the stored catalogue that lets it sell offline, and the phone's own settings. Your sales, stock and customers are in the account already and need no backup.

  • Automatic — one file a day in the app's private storage, and to Google Drive if you connect it, with a backup when the register closes. Seven days are kept on the phone, fourteen in Drive.
  • Manual — Back up now writes a file to Documents/StockManagerPro on the phone, or uploads one to Drive.
  • Restore — pick a backup from the phone, from Drive or from anywhere else on the handset. Queued sales come back only under the login that took them, and a re-sent sale that did reach the server isn't recorded twice.

Restoring onto a different phone leaves the chosen printer behind on purpose — the new phone points at its own printer rather than an address it can't reach.
